What is your favorite class at Jade Fitness and why?
This is a loaded question – wouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I haven’t had the opportunity to take all the classes yet and I hear some of the new offerings are great.
I will say the Weekend Warrior is probably my favorite. I like the cardio and the strength training in one longer session. I really feel like I get a great workout.
What do you like to do when you’re not working out at Jade?
I train and show my dogs in agility, obedience and tracking. I currently have two West Highland White Terriers and a Border Collie. This takes up a lot of my free time both during the week and on weekends, so I appreciate the variety of class offerings at Jade so that I can fit a workout into my schedule.
What is the last good book you read?
Instead I will answer this as one of my favorite books – The Cellist of Sarajevo by Stephen Galloway. I guess this one really got to me since I had been to Sarajevo several years early and saw the damage caused by the war – structurally and culturally, and the many lost lives.
Do you prefer cardio or strength training?
I love to go running. I don’t listen to any music as I can entertain myself with the thoughts in my head.
What does your perfect day look like?
Spending a day with my friends at a dog show – winning or placing doesn’t necessarily mean a good day, putting forth our best effort and spending time with my friends is what counts. Though bringing home a ribbon is the icing on the cake 🙂
How do you think your Jade trainers would describe you?
Quiet
What kind of music (or musical artists) do you like to listen to when you work out?
Popular, Top 40, HipHop – I sometimes play the songs in my head while running 🙂
Tell us something about you that not many people know
I was in 4-H and participated in many competitions – horses, dogs and…. poultry judging. I was part of the team representing Maryland at the National 4-H Poultry Judging Contest. I placed in both egg grading and market bird grading classes and none other than Colonel Sanders handed out the awards at the banquet!
