Capitol Hill fitness center provides free workouts for teachers
Jade Fitness, a boutique fitness studio on Capitol Hill, is showing its appreciation for D.C.’s teachers by offering by offering them free workouts between Dec.1 – 31, 2017.
All D.C. elementary, secondary, public, charter, and private school teachers can take unlimited group fitness classes beginning Friday, Dec.1 through the end of the year. To take advantage of this offer, interested teachers should stop by at Jade Fitness (1310 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE) to present proof of profession or school identification. Jade’s front desk is open weekdays between 6 – 9 am and between 2 – 8 pm, as well as on Saturdays between 9 am – 12 pm.
With more than 3,200 square feet of studio space, Jade Fitness provides a variety of total body fitness classes for all ages, interests, and goals. Jade’s group fitness classes are capped at 10 participants, which allows for personal attention and a focus on technique.
Classes such as CardioCore and TRX/KB Fusion are offered on weekdays as early as 6:30 am and as late as 7:30 pm. Weekend classes include Weekend Warrior; an intensive, 75-minute full body workout; and PiYo, a mixed workout using elements of pilates and yoga to focus on both strength and endurance. Jade’s upstairs studio is home to both gentle and flow yoga classes, which are offered most weekday evenings.
“So much of what teachers do for their kids on an everyday basis is unrecognized and undervalued,” said Ellen Heier of Jade Fitness. “As a mom, I hope this small gesture conveys our gratitude and gives teachers a chance to sweat off stress, recharge, and get ready for the new year.”
