There comes a point in every class or training session where I want to cry, throw up and/or quit (in no particular order). It usually lasts for about a minute or two and it usually involves cardio and Drew shouting “You can do this, dig deeper, don’t stop!” So I force myself to “dig deeper” and power through that feeling, and every single time it passes and I immediately feel stronger. I guess that’s the endorphins kicking in.
This week due to packed personal schedules we had to do back-to-back nights of personal training. The first night we worked on our arms a lot, which has never been my strength. They felt like JELL-O when I left and the next morning I was SORE. The thought of going back again later that evening seemed almost impossible physically.
But, we did. Both Matt and I are getting better at the workouts. Anything involving cardio is my weak spot, anything involving flexibility is his. But Drew gave us compliments on how well our lunges and planks have improved. Our push-ups still suck (he’d agree), so we got more homework of 10 good push-ups twice a week…cue the sad trombone.
Slowly I’m seeing some physical changes. Some muscle definition is emerging and I’m excited to report that I’m down two pounds! It’s great to see the numbers on the scale moving in the other direction for once. I already feel much better than I did when we first started with Jade Fitness in DC about a month ago. I know it will take time, but we made it this far.
And we’ll just keep moving forward.
Jade Fitness is still running a promotional special for $79 for 30 days of unlimited classes. I’d encourage people to give it a try. If we can do it, trust me, you can too.
